A NOTE FROM DIRECTOR / CHOREOGRAPHER,
KELLY VAN OOSBREE
Thank you for supporting our production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch: a vibrant journey of self-discovery, resilience, and the quest for identity. As a director, I am thrilled to bring Hedwig's powerful story to life on this stage.
At its core, this musical is about the search for completeness and authenticity. Hedwig experiences a series of transformations—physical, emotional, and spiritual—in pursuit of finding their true self. Through a blend of rock music, humor, and poignant storytelling, you are invited into a world where identity is fluid and personal truth is fiercely sought after.
Throughout this production, the Give 5 Productions team has endeavored to honor the spirit of John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask's original creation while also bringing the hearts of this particular group of artists to the stage. We encourage you to reflect on the universal themes of love, acceptance, and the courage to embrace one's true self. May this performance inspire you to celebrate your own journey of identity and empower you to live authentically.
